A return to Luxor for two weeks for some heat after a cold winter with two periods of heavy snow. It was unseasonably cool in Egypt and the "Egyptian Spring" had just started in Cairo when we left; three days later the trouble had spead to Luxor and, on the advice of the FCO, we were advised not to leave the hotel. Mobile phones and the internet were taken down by the Egyptian Government to frustrate the revolt so we couldn't communicate. We were eventually flown out a week early.
