Scanned slides, not of the greatest quality, from an overland journey in a Mercedes truck with Exodus Expeditions from Nairobi to Zanzibar via Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, the eastern edge of Lake Victoria, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, Arusha and Dar Es Salam.
This wasn't a great trip with relatively little seen. My main memories are of the utter poverty of western Tanzania, the continuing overwhelming emotion when viewing the Crater from the rim and while descending the escarpment, a sense which has never left me since I first had the privilege of camping for 2 nights in the Crater in February 1984, an experience which is sadly now forbidden, and of the beauty of Zanzibar.
