Little remains of this Augustinan foundation built on terraces above the River Derwent. Founded about 1130, dissolved 8 December 1539. The length of the chancel is out of all proportion to the length of the nave, suggesting that at one time there were many more canons in the convent than the Prior and 17 Canons at dissolution.
