Scanned slides, of variable quality, from an overland tour in 1994, starting at Lome, Togo, passing through Ghana and the desperate poverty of Burkina Faso, to Mali, culminating in the cultural highlight of a few days in a traditional Dogon village below the Bandiagara Escarpnment, before returning through Bamako. The Burkina Faso and Mali sections of this trip are, sadly, no longer safe because of Islamist extremists and ISIL franchises. Even in 1994 travel much beyond Mopti was discouraged because the tuareg were making a healthy living off tourists crossing the Sahara.
