A 90 minute, 380 km flight from Mtemere Airstrip in Selous to Ruaha, followed by a 2 and a half hour transfer to Kwihala Camp. Barely five minutes out of the airport we came across a leopard snoozing under a bridge, out of the midday sun. In the afternoon a 3 hour drive along the banks of the Mdonia River, a tributary of the Ruaha River but at this time of year largely a dry riverbed awaiting the rains.
