A brief visit to capital of the Algarve on a miserable day of wind and rain. The cathedral area is nicely preserved and maintained but otherwise the city shows signs of deacy and rot with graffiti rampant. The cathedral and other churches are in the high Baroque style, fine craftsmanship and gilt but no signs of guilt that it was all built from the profits of the slave trade.
