Located at the northern end of the Shropshire Union Canal in Ellesmere Port just before the canal enters the Mersey Ship Canal. The site was formerly a canal docks designed by Thomas Telford as one of the major trans-shipment ports for freight to and from the Midlands and Liverpool.
